Stones Pigment Dyed Tee

$40.00
Crystal healing is the belief that semiprecious stones like quartz, amethyst, and jade have special healing powers. There's no scientific evidence behind it, but the idea is remarkably old and shows up in many cultures.

The ancient Egyptians wore amulets of lapis lazuli, carnelian, and turquoise, believing they held protective and magical powers, and placed them in tombs and mummy wrappings to guide the dead. The Greeks gave many of these stones the names we still use, and assigned them properties too. "Amethyst" comes from a Greek word meaning "not drunk," because the stone was believed to prevent intoxication. Jade was treasured in China for thousands of years, and turquoise holds deep meaning for many Native American peoples of the Southwest.

I can't say whether any of these stones really heal. But looking at this tee, something about it feels calming. It's easy to see why ancient people believed these stones were magical. They're beautiful, almost like rocks from another world.

This style is known as a specimen chart: a grid of photographed examples, each labeled in a neat serif caption, like a page from an old field guide. You'll often see the same format used for vegetables, mushrooms, fish, or birds.

A fun detail for close readers: not everything on the chart is a true gemstone. "Moonglass" and "Goldstone" are man-made glass, Red Coral comes from a sea creature, and "Turquenite" is dyed howlite made to imitate turquoise. Even the healing-stone chart has a few impostors.

My one critique is placement. The graphic is large and packed with information. It would work better on the back, where people can take their time reading it, with a small logo on the front.
