Dime
Metal Gear Solid Tee
$40.00
Metal Gear Solid is a video game where you play as Solid Snake, a solider, who infiltrates enemy facilities to stop the launch of Metal Gear, a machine of mass destruction. How does he stealthily infiltrate the enemy facility you ask? Of course hiding under a cardboard box!
This is one of the trademark items of the series, used to hide the main character from enemy guards and surveillance cameras. It also has a origin too; Dnake hiding under a box is a nod to Kobo Abe's novel The Box Man, which Hideo Kojima, the creator of MGS, is fan of.
Once again Dime delivers, choosing to go with this side of Snake. While Snake is a grim soldier we don't see that at all in this design, just a guy with a cardboard on his head roaming around. It is a smart choice as anyone who has played the game instantly gets the reference and for anyone who doesn't it is still a humorous graphic. We can speculate that this tee was released to promote the remake of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater which came out on Aug 28, 2025, 2 month after this tee was released.
Sadly this tee is very difficult to find on the internet. If you find one please email me, I would love to get one!
Lastly a question that has been bugging me. Is this considered a box logo? You know cardboard box logo......
